Advancing Agriculture

Agriculture is rapidly evolving, requiring smarter tools and more precise decision-making. The Digital Ag Innovation Lab brings together engineering, data science, agronomic and agricultural expertise to develop technologies that solve real-world challenges.

With 85,000 square feet of research space, access to full-scale production acreage for field testing and a team of 70 professionals and graduate students, Digital Ag bridges research and real-world application to support farmers, agribusiness and technology companies worldwide.

From Iowa to Europe to South America and beyond, Digital Ag's technologies are helping agriculture become more productive, efficient and resilient.

Statewide Reach in Every County

With outreach extending into all 99 Iowa counties, the Digital Ag Innovation Lab ensures that producers, agronomists and agricultural professionals have access to hands-on education and practical digital agriculture tools. Through workshops, demonstrations and training programs, Digital Ag brings innovation directly to farms and communities of every size across the state.

Through Planter University, Digital Ag has generated more than $100 million in total farmer impact by helping producers make more informed decisions about planting technology and equipment use. These field-based learning experiences allow participants to evaluate performance, improve efficiency and apply research-backed practices directly in real-world conditions.

On average, farmers participating in Planter University programs see a benefit of approximately $30,000. This value reflects improved decision-making, optimized equipment performance and the application of hands-on training that translates directly into operational gains on the farm.
